I’ve worked with Second Street Associates, my family’s business, to steward and reimagine The Distillery in South Boston—a pioneering green real estate project that integrates sustainability, community, and the arts. The property includes some of the first Passive House–certified multifamily residences in the U.S., artist live/work spaces, and renewable energy systems. Our approach has been to treat buildings as living systems, experimenting with advanced insulation, on-site generation, and innovative retrofits that reduce environmental impact while fostering a vibrant creative community.
